Probationary Assistant Professor in Biochemistry

The Department of Chemistry at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a probationary appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in accordance with The University of Winnipeg Faculty Association Collective Agreement (2020-2027). Subject to budgetary approval, the date of appointment is anticipated to be July 1, 2026.

Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related discipline with demonstrated connections to biochemistry research. The successful candidate will have a strong research record, a commitment to excellent and innovative undergraduate teaching and mentorship, with expertise to teach undergraduate Biochemistry courses, and interest or experience in university service and governance. Applicants with postdoctoral or equivalent experience are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants must demonstrate potential to develop an externally-funded research program that will complement the Department's existing research expertise.

Université d’Ottawa: Chimie et sciences biomoléculaires - Professeur remplaçant ou professeure remplaçante

 Le Département de chimie et sciences biomoléculaires de l’Université d’Ottawa sollicite des candidatures pour un poste de professeure remplaçante ou de professeur remplaçant. La date d’entrée en fonction est le 1er juillet 2026.

Titre du poste : Professeur remplaçant ou professeure remplaçante

Fonctions : Les fonctions des membres du personnel enseignant incluent, dans des proportions diverses : les activités d’enseignement (six cours par année) et les activités des services scolaires. Le candidat ou la candidate sera chargé(e) à enseigner dans les deux langues officielles.

Durée : contrat de (2) deux ans, renouvelable – nouvelle position.

Salaire : Selon l’échelle salariale en vigueur à compter du 1er mai, 2025, le salaire de base des professeures adjointes ou des professeurs adjoints est de 99 377$.

Compétences exigées:

  • Formation : Diplôme de doctorat en chimie, biochimie ou discipline connexe. Une expérience dans le domaine de la chimie et des sciences biomoléculaires est un atout.
  • Expérience de travail:

Nous sommes à la recherche de candidates et de candidats avec une expérience démontrée en enseignement au premier cycle universitaire (chimie et sciences biomoléculaires) dans les deux langues officielles. Une expérience de la recherche au sein d’une université ou dans l’industrie est considérée comme un atout. Une expérience en supervision d’étudiantes et d’étudiants au premier cycle universitaire est également considérée comme un atout.

La capacité de la candidate ou du candidat à enseigner en chimie et sciences biomoléculaires au deuxième cycle universitaire est considérée comme un atout. La capacité de la candidate ou du candidat à participer à au moins un des groupes de recherche établis est considérée comme un atout.

University of New Brunswick - Fredericton: Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor - inorganic and general chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at UNB Fredericton invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor to coordinate and teach inorganic and general chemistry lecture and laboratory courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The appointment will begin July 1, 2026, or as negotiated, subject to final budgetary approval. The salary range and fringe benefits for this position are defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 - 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and have concomitant teaching experience; postdoctoral experience would also be an asset. Duties will include teaching introductory general chemistry and senior inorganic chemistry courses (development, delivery and/or coordination of lecture and laboratory course components). The successful candidate will bring complementary experience and expertise that will support existing teaching capacity, engage and inspire students, and assist the diversification of the curriculum.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of New Brunswick has a long tradition of research and teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels and in diverse areas of chemistry. There are also numerous well-established collaborations and cooperative programs with other units at UNB, including biology, physics, earth sciences, forestry, and chemical engineering. The department is situated on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of Wolastoqiyik, on the Fredericton campus of UNB in the vibrant and diverse provincial capital of New Brunswick.
