Le Département de chimie sollicite des candidatures pour un poste de professeure ou de professeur en biochimie analytique menant à la permanence. Le département de chimie compte plus d’une vingtaine de professeurs regroupés au sein de groupes de recherche œuvrant dans des créneaux importants de la chimie et de la biochimie, telle la chimie physique, la synthèse et catalyse, la chimie de l’environnement, la chimie des matériaux et la biochimie moléculaire. Le département abrite les centres de recherche NanoQAM et PharmaQAM, une chaire de recherche stratégique, trois chaires de recherche du Canada et est affilié au centre de recherche BIOMED. EXIGENCES:

• Posséder un doctorat en biochimie, biophysique, biologie moléculaire ou dans une discipline connexe.

• Avoir démontré une excellente aptitude en recherche.
• Avoir la capacité d’établir un programme de recherche autonome et novateur dans le domaine afin d’obtenir des fonds de recherche d’organismes subventionnaires majeurs.
• Participer à l’enseignement aux trois cycles et à l’encadrement d’étudiants des programmes de maîtrise et de doctorat en biochimie.
• Maîtriser le français à l’oral et à l’écrit; la candidature d’une personne qui ne maîtrise pas le français pourra être considérée. Les personnes recrutées qui ne maîtrisent pas le français à leur entrée en fonction bénéficient d’une aide à l’apprentissage du français.

Queen's University: Tenure Track Faculty Position in Analytical Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Queen’s University invites applications for a Tenure- track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with specialization in Analytical Chemistry, with a preferred starting date of July 1, 2018.

Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree completed at the start date of the appointment. The main criteria for selection are academic research and teaching excellence. The successful candidate will provide evidence of high quality scholarly output that demonstrates potential for independent research leading to peer assessed publications and the securing of external research funding in the general area of Analytical Chemistry. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and an ongoing commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence in support of the department’s programs. Candidates must provide evidence of an ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and student-centred environment. The successful candidate will be required to make substantive contributions through service to the department, the Faculty, the University, and/or the broader community. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  This position is subject to final budgetary approval by the University.

Dr. Heather Reader hired by Memorial University

Congratulations to Dr. Heather Reader, who has been hired as a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Memorial University. Dr. Reader is a biogeochemist who researches dissolved organic matter in marine environments. She completed her B.Sc. in chemistry at the University of Calgary, followed by a Ph.D. at the University of Georgia. She then held postdoctoral fellowships at the Technical University of Denmark and Lund University.

Simon Fraser University: Nuclear Medicinal Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Simon Fraser University together with the Life Sciences division of TRIUMF, Canada's national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics, invite applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Nuclear Medicinal Chemistry. With the goal of leading our expansion into nuclear medicine, it is our vision that this jointly funded position will strengthen the connection between SFU’s Nuclear Science Program and TRIUMF. Outstanding candidates with a commitment to excellence in research and teaching are being sought for this position. The successful candidate will make use of the Life Science facilities at TRIUMF, and state-of-the-art research facilities at SFU (e.g. SFU High-Throughput Screening Facility, 4D Labs), to develop and maintain both an innovative, externally funded research program, and an excellent teaching record at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Chemistry. Responsibilities

Qualifications

McGill University: Assistant Professor position in Computational/Theoretical Chemistry
