2015 was an active year for hiring in chemistry departments across Canada. By province, Ontario led the country in number of postings. There were also a large number of postings for Alberta and Nova Scotia.
By field, the largest number of postings were for physical and analytical chemistry. Materials chemistry and teaching-only positions were also popular.
Congratulations again to all the new professors who began their faculty positions this year. Computational chemistry was an area that showed a particularly large amount of renewal. The faculty completed their PhDs at universities across Canada.
Hopefully 2016 will be another great year for chemistry in Canada.
