UQAM: Polymer Chemistry

Starting date is on June 1st 2017, conditional to budgetary approval. UQAM is seeking outstanding candidates to maintain a level of excellence in all fields of activity. The Département de Chimie at the Université du Québec à Montréal invites applications for a full-time Professor position, specializing in polymer chemistry, broadly defined. The selected candidate will have access to the NanoQAM institutional research center infrastructure (www.nanoquam.uqam.ca).

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program in the field of polymer chemistry, to teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students at the master and doctoral level, and to participate in the University activities.

Requirements


  • Ph.D. in chemistry (or related discipline) in the field of polymer synthesis
  • Postdoctoral or industrial experience
  • Ability to teach polymer chemistry
  • Development of a dynamic and international research program that could be funded by the major funding agencies
  • Excellent publication track-record
  • Ability to establish internal and external collaborations
  • Ability to teach and communicate in French*

* Courses are taught in French but Université du Québec à Montréal provides support to new
faculties to attain proficiency in French.

Asset

• An organometallic chemistry component to the research program would be an asset.

STARTING DATE: On or after June 1st, 2017.
