Trinity Western University: inorganic, metallo-organic, biophysical chemistry, bio-inorganic, or materials chemistry

The Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FNAS) at Trinity Western University invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track faculty position in the area of inorganic, metallo-organic, biophysical chemistry, bio-inorganic, or materials chemistry, to start August 16, 2019. Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate excellent teaching potential and abilities in lower and upper level undergraduate courses in the areas of inorganic and/or quantum chemistry, and general or organic chemistry. Additionally, applicants whose research interests would complement existing strengths within the department in materials, sustainable products, environmental, and/or green chemistry would be welcome. We especially encourage applications from those interested in developing a research program with an undergraduate emphasis in one or more of these areas.
A Ph.D. in chemistry or an allied discipline is required and postdoctoral or comparable research experience is preferred. A successful candidate should have potential to develop an externally funded research program as well as provide effective teaching at the undergraduate level. The Department is small (3 faculty, 2 staff) and is putting extensive effort into visioning our future path forward. We would love a candidate who aligns and contributes to the visioning process as a member of this team.
