Stijn De Baerdemacker hired by the University of New Brunswick as Tier 2 CRC

Stijn De Baerdemacker obtained his PhD in physics at Ghent University (Belgium) on nuclear structure physics.  Supported by a FWO-Vlaanderen postdoctoral fellowship from his home country, he was a visiting researcher for several years in David Rowe's mathematical physics group at the University of Toronto and the nuclear theory group of Mark Caprio at the University of Notre Dame, IN.  Afterwards, he developed a keen affinity with quantum chemistry and become a delocalized particle over Dimitri Van Neck's quantum many-body group, Patrick Bultinck's quantum chemistry group and Frank Verstraete's quantum physics group at Ghent University.  He has developed beyond-integrability methods for quantum many-body systems and has contributed to the recent renaissance in geminal theory for molecular systems.  His current research interests include geminal theory, broken symmetry methods and interpretable machine learning.

You can read more about his work through his Google Scholar profile.

Congratulations Stijn and welcome to Canada!
