MANAGER OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Departments of Chemistry and Earth Sciences

 (Contractual Position to June 30, 2020)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Associate Dean (Undergraduate), Faculty of Science, the successful applicant will work under the direction of the Department Heads of Chemistry and Earth Sciences to provide academic support within those departments for undergraduate programs. Duties include assisting with the selection and scheduling of undergraduate courses; providing academic advice to the department’s undergraduate students including majors and minors; participating as a member of the Chemistry and Earth Sciences Undergraduate Committees; preparing formal calendar change documents and responding to intra-university consultations on calendar changes; participating in departmental tours, mini enrichment, outreach activities; admissions; prerequisite waivers; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in a University administrative setting and demonstrated understanding of University Science undergraduate programs and calendar regulations; graduation with a Master’s degree in Science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Excellent writing, oral communication, presentation and organizational skills are required. Experience teaching University level Chemistry or Earth Sciences courses would be an asset.

SALARY                                   $59,856- $81,622 per annum (Management and Professional)
