Position Summary
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in chemistry at the Assistant Professor level in an NMR-centric research area, (including NMR method development, NMR characterization of significant chemical or biochemical systems, or design and synthesis of functional molecules), starting January 1, 2020 or July 1, 2020.

The successful candidate will become a primary user of our existing NMR facility (Bruker Avance NEO 400, Varian Inova 500) and will contribute to the expansion of this facility. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach chemistry at all levels, including introductory chemistry and advanced and graduate courses in a specialized area.

In addition to the NMR facility, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is home to the Trace Analysis Facility (GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and class 100 cleanroom), and the Proteomics and Genomics Core Facility (large-scale proteomics, genetic and drug screening, protein identification). The Faculty of Science also houses the Laboratory for Computational Discovery (Ciaratech Supercomputer Clusters with 72 and 420 CPU cores), the Cellular Impacts Facility (wide-field fluorescence and confocal microscopy), the Electron Microbeam Facility (Tescan Vega 3 and JEOL JSM-6360 SEMs), the Institute for Environmental Change and Society, and the Institute for Microbial Systems and Society, which provide a wide variety of advanced instrumentation as well as opportunities for collaboration.

Requirements
A Ph.D. in chemistry;
Relevant post-doctoral or industrial research experience;
A strong research record publication record in his or her proposed area of research;
Capable of developing an independent externally funded research program.
