McMaster University: Drug Discovery

The Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences and the Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research at McMaster University invites applications for up to three faculty positions to facilitate the growth of a Faculty initiative in drug discovery. Specifically, candidates at the assistant - associate professor rank are sought in the areas of medicinal chemistry, protein x-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy.

McMaster University has embarked on an ambitious program to develop the area of preclinical drug discovery and has outstanding facilities in high-throughput chemical screening, natural products and models of disease, x-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, and protein studies. The Department and Institute are home to a strong faculty contingent that is working at the interface of chemistry, biochemistry and medicine. We are seeking candidates to expand this initiative with research programs complementarity to the research strengths of the group.

Applicants must possess a PhD or MD/PhD with experience in medicinal chemistry or structural biology and a strong desire to work collaboratively with other faculty members. The successful applicant will develop an active research program and contribute to educational programs at McMaster University.
