Duties

The Department of Physical Sciences at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) invites applications for a four month sessional faculty position in physical/computational chemistry to commence January 8, 2018.  TRU offers B.Sc. degrees with Canadian Society for Chemistry accredited Majors in chemistry and Environmental Chemistry.  TRU also offers an interdisciplinary Major in Chemical Biology.  Applicants should have a commitment to quality undergraduate education.  The successful candidate will teach first-year general chemistry and two third-year lecture and laboratory courses in physical chemistry.  The physical chemistry lecture course deals with introductory aspects of computational and quantum chemistry and statistical thermodynamics.  The computational laboratory course makes use of the software Spartan.

Qualifications

PhD in chemistry or near completion

Established teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset
