Memorial University: Analytical Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry, Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2019, subject to budgetary approval. The successful applicant will be required to develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program in the broad area of analytical chemistry. Their proposed research should fit into the areas identified in Memorial’s Research Strategy Framework (http://www.mun.ca/research/framework/themes.php). Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests complement current faculty in the department and/or the University.

The position requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry, post-doctoral experience, an excellent track record in research, and an aptitude for teaching. The new appointee will also be responsible for teaching analytical chemistry courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and first year chemistry as required. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Chemistry Department has 21 faculty, 33 M.Sc. students, and 48 Ph.D. students in research groups supported by NSERC and other provincial, federal, international, and industrial funding agencies. Our Department is home to vibrant, diverse, and interdisciplinary research programs. We offer an exceptional research environment with access to fantastic electronics and machine shop support, as well as modern chemical analysis instrumentation.
