University of Northern British Columbia: Senior Lab Instructor

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, lab instruction, supporting the undergraduate teaching labs, the preparation of lab manuals, supervision of teaching and lab assistants, and some lecture-based teaching of organic chemistry. In addition, you will be responsible for lab safety, ordering of chemicals and consumables, maintenance and organization of lab equipment, and liaising with administrative bodies regarding laboratory scheduling.
Applicants for this position must hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry, as well as present a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. As teaching will be a required component of the position, applicants are advised to present evidence of excellence in teaching.

Trinity Western University: inorganic, metallo-organic, biophysical chemistry, bio-inorganic, or materials chemistry

The Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FNAS) at Trinity Western University invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track faculty position in the area of inorganic, metallo-organic, biophysical chemistry, bio-inorganic, or materials chemistry, to start August 16, 2019. Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate excellent teaching potential and abilities in lower and upper level undergraduate courses in the areas of inorganic and/or quantum chemistry, and general or organic chemistry. Additionally, applicants whose research interests would complement existing strengths within the department in materials, sustainable products, environmental, and/or green chemistry would be welcome. We especially encourage applications from those interested in developing a research program with an undergraduate emphasis in one or more of these areas.
A Ph.D. in chemistry or an allied discipline is required and postdoctoral or comparable research experience is preferred. A successful candidate should have potential to develop an externally funded research program as well as provide effective teaching at the undergraduate level. The Department is small (3 faculty, 2 staff) and is putting extensive effort into visioning our future path forward. We would love a candidate who aligns and contributes to the visioning process as a member of this team.

Marcus Drover Hired by the University of Windsor

Congratulations to Dr. Marcus Drover, who has accepted a faculty position at the University of Windsor. Marcus completed his B.Sc. (Hons) at the Memorial University of Newfoundland where he researched green chemistry with Professor Francesca Kerton. He then completed his Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of British Columbia, co-supervised by Professors Laurel Schaffer and Jennifer Love. In 2017, he became a Resnick and NSERC Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology with Prof. Jonas C. Peters. Marcus's area of research is main group and organometallic chemistry.

UQAM is seeking outstanding candidates to maintain a level of excellence in all fields of activity.

The Département de Chimie at the Université du Québec à Montréal invites applications for a full-time Tenure-track Professor position, at all levels, in electrochemistry. The candidate must propose a research program mainly in the field of electrochemistry and will benefit from access to NanoQAM, an institutional research centre, which hosts a suite of equipment for materials synthesis and characterization (www.nanoqam.uqam.ca).

Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field

Ability to teach and communicate in French. Courses are taught in French. UQAM provides support to new faculty to attain proficiency in French.

St. Francis Xavier University: Tenure track faculty position in chemistry (esp. spectroscopy)

The Department of Chemistry at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications for a probationary tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2019. The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be teaching introductory and advanced courses at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to general faculty duties in the Department and the University. Research interests in spectroscopy would be preferred, but applicants from all areas of chemistry' will be considered. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop an externally funded program of research. Independent and collaborative research opportunities are available and encouraged within the Department and within the University. Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM): Tier 2 CRC in Systems Biology

The Department of Chemistry at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is seeking applications for a tenure-track position as professor in systems biology starting in August 2019. Applicants with expertise in the study of interactions between components of biological systems and proposing a research topic related to systems biology will be considered and are particularly invited to apply. Candidate that meets the eligibility requirements of the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) - Tier 2 program may be supported by the University to apply for a CRC.
The Department of Chemistry has currently over twenty Faculty members active in different research areas including, physical chemistry, synthesis and catalysis, environmental chemistry, material chemistry and molecular biochemistry. The Chemistry Department offers numerous graduate programs and is home of the NanoQAM and PharmaQAM Research Centers, a Strategic Research Chair, and two Canada Research Chairs.
