About the position
The Department of Chemistry at Brock University invites applications for a probationary tenure track position in any area of Analytical Chemistry. Applications will be considered at the rank of Assistant Professor from individuals with post-doctoral experience. The appointment will commence on or after January 1, 2022, subject to final budgetary approval. Successful applicants will have strong experimental skills in analytical chemistry. An ability and willingness to support aspects of teaching and collaborative research is an asset. Applicants are expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to develop and maintain a thriving, externally funded, research program.

About the department
The Department (www.brocku.ca/mathematics-science/departments-and-centres/chemistry) offers B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry and M.Sc./Ph.D. degrees for students who qualify for the Biotechnology graduate program (www.brocku.ca/mathematics-science/departments-and-centres/centre-biotechnology). Applicants are expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to develop and maintain a thriving, externally funded, research program. The Department has the state-of-the-art research facilities featuring three Bruker NMR spectrometers (300, 400 and 600 MHz) and a suite of mass-spectrometers (Thermo Scientific GC-MS, Bruker HCT Plus ion-trap, and Bruker Autoflex TOF/TOF MALDI). In addition, the following equipment is available: LC-MS/MS, LC-IMS-QTOF-MS for surface analysis, LC-IMS-QTOF-MS, GC-olfactometer-MS, GC-QTOF-MS, ICP-MS, metabolic flux analyzer multimode microplate reader, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and a range of bench-top equipment for handling biomolecules.
