University of Northern British Columbia: Organic Chemistry

The University of Northern British Columbia invites applications for a Tenure-Track position in the Chemistry & Biochemistry Program at the rank of Assistant Professor, with proposed starting date of July 1, 2021. It has a core campus in Prince George and regional campuses and research institutes throughout northern British Columbia. The Chemistry & Biochemistry program offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs (B.Sc., B.Sc.- Honours, M.Sc.) and has a wide variety of relevant research instrumentation such multinuclear NMR, FT-IR, Mass Spectroscopy, Gas Chromatography, and analytical and preparative HPLC. We also have a wide variety of instrumentation for Chemical-Biological studies such as a Cell Sorter, a QPCR machine, a multimode plate reader, and a confocal microscope

Applications from candidates with research programs in Organic Chemistry specializing in natural product chemistry and synthesis will be given priority; however, strong candidates in other areas of Organic Chemistry, particularly those that complement other research areas at UNBC, will be considered. The successful candidate must have completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry and have demonstrated an ability to do high quality research. Demonstrated excellence in teaching or the capacity to do so is also required. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active externally funded research program and to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
