The Department of Chemistry at The University of Winnipeg invites outstanding candidates to apply for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with specialization in Biochemistry.  The position will support a funded research program in the biochemical and neurological pathways regulating feeding and nutrition.  Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry or related field and have relevant postdoctoral experience.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active, externally-funded independent research program in an area related to eating disorders. The candidate will be expected to work with researchers in the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders at the St. Boniface Hospital Albrechtsen Research Centre. Research support will be provided by St. Boniface Hospital. The successful candidate will also have a strong commitment to teaching.  They will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate courses in Chemistry and Biochemistry, as well as supervise undergraduate and graduate student research projects. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate actively in departmental and university service activities.

The selection committee will begin reviewing applications on March 22, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled; full consideration is assured for applications received by March 19, 2021.  Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence July 1, 2021.  Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
