University of Manitoba: Instructor I - Inorganic Chemistry and Indigenization

 The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a full-time probationary position at the rank of Instructor I with a focus on Inorganic Chemistry and Indigenization, commencing July 1st, 2022 or on a mutually agreed upon date. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Department seeks an emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and pedagogical development.  Preference will be given to those with teaching experience and Ph.D (preferred) or M.Sc. or other distinguishing attributes in Inorganic Chemistry and Indigenization. Duties may include undergraduate teaching, including live lecture, on-line and distance delivery formats, pedagogical/course development and assessment, and service-related activities. The successful candidate will have a track record of outstanding teaching contributions and course development and will exhibit evidence of the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

The Department currently has 20 full time tenured and tenure track faculty members and 10 Instructors and offers a full range of both undergraduate and graduate programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Department has a well-established and equipped research facility including infrastructure available to teaching such as X-ray diffractometers, NMR spectrometers, thermogravimetric analysis, electrochemical equipment, IR spectroscopy, gas-chromatography mass spectrometers and high performance liquid chromatography instruments among others, and is supported by strong links with other University of Manitoba departments including Microbiology, Physics and Astronomy, Biological Sciences and Civil Engineering.
