University of Winnipeg: Analytical Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at The University of Winnipeg invites outstanding candidates to apply for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and have relevant postdoctoral experience.  Candidates with research expertise in bioanalytical chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry and biomedical science and an interest in interdisciplinary research will be preferred.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active externally-funded research program, and develop and teach undergraduate courses in analytical chemistry. Expertise in techniques including analytical separations, chromatography, mass spectrometry and micro/nanofluidics will be an asset. Supervision of undergraduate and graduate student research projects is expected. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate actively in departmental and university service activities.
The selection committee will begin reviewing applications on January 20, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled; full consideration is assured for applications received by Friday, January 17, 2020.  Subject to budgetary approval, this position will be effective from July 1, 2020.  Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • a Tri-Agency Grant style research proposal (maximum five pages)
  • a teaching statement and evidence of teaching effectiveness, including teaching evaluations, if available (one to two pages)
