Trent University: Organic Chemistry

Trent University invites applications for a tenure track position in the field of organic chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will start July 1, 2020, subject to budgetary approval. A PhD degree in Chemistry or directly related discipline is required, and demonstrated organic chemistry teaching and research experience is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop an outstanding and innovative research program in synthetic organic chemistry supported by external research funding, recruit and supervise graduate students and contribute to teaching and departmental expertise in synthetic chemistry. Candidates with an interest in polymeric or materials chemistry are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will teach four one-semester courses primarily at the undergraduate level in chemistry. These courses may include, but are not limited to, organic chemistry at the second and third year levels, introductory chemistry at the first year level and applications of NMR spectroscopy or polymeric materials at the fourth year level.
