About the Department
Faculty members in the Department pursue research in the five subdisciplines of chemistry, as well as transdisciplinary research. The Department of Chemistry offers Ph.D./M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry and in Chemical Biotechnology. The Chemistry honours program and joint major program with Physics are accredited by the Canadian Society for Chemistry. We offer two Co-op Chemistry options, including a unique research-intensive option. In addition, we offer Biochemistry and Biotechnology undergraduate programs, jointly with the Biological Sciences department. About the position
The Department of Chemistry at Brock University invites applications for a probationary tenure-stream position as Assistant Professor in Organosilicon Chemistry with emphasis on silicon-based materials and biological methods of synthesis. Applications will be considered at the Associate Professor level from individuals with appropriate experience as independent primary investigators. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a thriving, externally funded research program, teach courses and supervise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, participate in the affairs of the department, and fulfill service commitments to the department and the university. An ability and willingness to support aspects of teaching in chemical biology and to perform collaborative research in cognate departments is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Qualifications are (a) a completed Ph.D. in Chemistry
  • The applicant must provide evidence of successful research, teaching, and professional experience in the fields of Organosilicon Chemistry with an emphasis on silicon-based materials and biological methods of synthesis.
