York University: Three-year Teaching Stream Contractually Limited Appointment

The Department of Chemistry, York University, invites applications for a three-year Teaching Stream Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) in Biochemistry at the Sessional Assistant Professor rank to commence July 1, 2020. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Departments of Chemistry and Biology, and in the Division of Natural Science which provides general science education to non-science students. Creative educational initiatives and contributions to curriculum delivery and development will be expected. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

A PhD or a PhD near completion in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence or clear potential for excellence in teaching university-level courses, a strong commitment to pedagogy and student success and the capacity to bring a theoretical and practical orientation to teaching and learning design. The successful candidate will demonstrate good judgment and a reflective approach to teaching innovation. A record of pedagogical innovation in high-priority areas such as experiential education, technology-enhanced learning and community-based learning is preferred as is experience with curriculum development and universal design approaches to teaching and assessment.
