9.5 month Contractually Limited Term

Position # 20211 – The Department of Chemistry invites applications for a 9.5-month contractually limited position at the rank of Instructor effective August 1, 2021 – May 15, 2022. The successful candidate will teach 8 laboratory course sections and one lecture course section during the academic year. The current teaching load assigned to this position includes: introductory organic chemistry I laboratory (fall semester, 3 sections), introductory organic chemistry I lecture (fall semester, 1 section), organic chemistry II laboratory (winter semester, 2 sections), and introductory biochemistry laboratory (winter semester, 3 sections). The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical aspects of laboratory preparation, and management of associated teaching assistants. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activities and serve on committees within the Department of Chemistry or more broadly at Acadia University.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a minimum of a laboratory-based MSc degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Previous teaching experience is highly preferred. Experience in curriculum mapping would be an asset.
